Surely you´ve heard the word podcast before. It´s like a radio cannel on the Internet, which creates visual and audio content.  You might even have a favourite one you listen to and follow. But did you know that there are hundreds of podcast specially created for kids? Today, at The Toy Blog, we´d like to share our list of favourite podcasts for them and the entire family. All you have to do now is take your Smartphone or computer and create your very own playlist, an excellent idea for road trips or even the ride to school each morning.

There is an infinite number of podcasts. Commercial, personalized, like a blog, and educational podcasts. The good thing about them is that they are practically all free and in this case, kids discover and learn things and improve their mental and motor skills while they are entertained.

One of the things we like best about podcasts is that it gets kids to pay attention, retain information and sharpen their listening skills. After you hear a program, don´t forget to comment about it with your children. Remember, it´s important to cultivate their critical mind. What was your favourite part of the program? Did you enjoy the narrator/presenter? How about the topic? Do you agree with what was said? What solution would you offer?

Our list of Favourite Podcasts for the entire family, includes 3 programs in Spanish to encourage everyone to brush up on your foreign languages, become familiar with different accents as well as expand vocabulary.

Podcasts in Spanish

For the Spanish podcasts, we put our eye on a great blog named Baby Radio. Here are our favourites:

Let´s Save the Planet (Salvemos el Planeta)

An ideal podcast so the little ones can learn how to take care of the environment. Kids will have to join Fly, the main character and battle against Spill.

Panthy Pinta Panthy

This podcast will teach them how to identify the masters of painting. Art made simple and fun.

Kroki´s Lab

If your children love science, they´ll have a kick in this amusing lab, run by a chicken that invents things and does fun experiments.

Ted Talks Kids & Family

If your kids love science, innovation, music and inventions, you´ll eventually hook them up to TedTalks. But until then, take advantage of their radio version for the entire family! Ted Talks Kids & Family offers endless programs and interesting talks focused on family, kids and education.

Ceebies by BBC Radio

Children will listen to the stories and adventures of the CBeebies. Created by the BBC for kids that are still I preschool and designed to improve their listening and imagination skills. Just like reading, listening forces them to imagine.

10 Pieces BBC Radio

This podcast, also created by BBC Radio, is actually intended for schools and their mission is to get kids to become familiar with classical music, inviting them to develop their own creative answers to 10 pieces of music. A magnificent idea for a family activity.

Did you like our list of favourites? Will you try one out with your kids?
